Viola

Rachel has performed as principal viola for all the following orchestras; The Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Philharmonia, London Sinfonietta, Britten Sinfonia, City of London Sinfonia, London Mozart Players, New London Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Busy in London studios she has recorded sessions for Andy Brown, Roz Colls, Paul Spong, Cathy Giles, Isobel Griffiths, George Hamer, Perry Montague-Mason, Colin Sheen, Hilary Skewes and Gavyn Wright. These have included tracks for:
Amy Winehouse, (Rehab, Valerie, Back to Black.)
Take That, (Patience, Greatest Day, The Flood))
Adele. (the albums "19" and "21".) 
Sam Smith, One Direction, Coldplay, Sigma, Robbie Williams  Richard Ashcroft, Emeli Sandé, Tom Odell, Paloma Faith, Rihanna and Florence Welch.

Rachel has also recorded the soundtracks for more than 800 films.

She has appeared as a soloist at the Purcell Room and Wigmore Hall and has given solo broadcasts for BBC radio and Classic FM.

She was the winner of the National Federation of Music Societies: Young Concert Artist Competition, the Royal Overseas League: Bernard Shore Prize and was a Fulbright Scholar which enabled her to study in the US with Donald McInnes.

In 1991,she was awarded the Sir John Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition.

Classical recordings include works with the Nash Ensemble and a recording of the solo viola part of Britten’s Curlew River with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields under Sir Neville Marriner, Rachel was also the viola soloist for the Placido Domingo film soundtrack “The Other Conquest”.
