MAS Coaching offer

If, like me, you have probably been through every known emotion and quite a few new ones since March 24th, when our industry was closed down for the foreseeable future. You may have spent whole days in your pyjamas, or in frenetic activity; or felt guilty about enjoying your garden in the sunshine while the NHS workers are on their knees; or been worrying about money or a vulnerable parent or child, but don’t want to burden anyone with these thoughts. I manage to find a new topic to worry about each day.

There is no certainty at the moment, so thinking about our domestic situations, managing our own emotions, wondering about our future as musicians, and attempting to make sense of global events can be completely overwhelming.

I have worked as a bass player for the last 30 years, but also as a Business and Personal Coach for the last 10 years. Coaching gives you a space to think. It allows you to sit with discomfort, take new perspectives on troubled thinking, and find your own answers (yours are always the best ones) to your issues. It can increase resilience, and produce a feeling of resourcefulness. There are no easy solutions at the moment but some clear-headed thinking and a supportive listener can sometimes help.

I have been a client of MAS for over 20 years and want to offer back to our community of musicians. I am offering coaching to MAS clients during this period of lock-down, on a pay-by-donation basis. If you are interested email me on LRH@btopenworld.com (with MAS Coaching in the subject box). I will fit in as many as I can. Content of all sessions will be treated in complete confidence. Sessions will be 45 minutes long and take place virtually.

I am professionally trained, accredited and fully insured. See my website for details
