QUALIFICATIONS
BMus(Hons) from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, class of Thomas Martin grad. 2022
 
SUMMARY
I began studying the double bass at the age of 15 with Sean Law before attending the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire as a scholarship student studying under Thomas Martin and Anthony Alcock. While at RBC, I also received lessons from Damian Rubido, Jeremy Watt and Julian Atkinson. From September to December 2022, I studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Kevin Rundell as a scholar and supported by Help Musicians. I was selected to be on the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Mentorship scheme where I was mentored by Marco Behtash. In recent years, I have participated in masterclasses with Leon Bosch, Giuseppe Ettore, Lorraine Campet, Tim Cobb, Davide Botto, Edward Francis-Smith and Chi-chi Nwanoku.

I taught bass as part of the ARCO project at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and have shadowed Jo Bradley on the National Children’s Orchestra Under 13s course in 2022 as a placement student. I co-founded the platform Bassists with Boobs alongside Evangeline Tang and Phoebe Clarke.

The instrument I play on is a Hungarian double bass with C-extension kindly loaned to me by the Cherubim Trust.
