Having met at the Royal College of Music, William Edwards and Kizzy Brooks formed MatchStick in the summer of 2016. Seeking to push the boundaries of percussion repertoire, they combine classical, contemporary and tech savvy ‘movement linked’ music to create vibrant and ground-breaking concert programmes. These concerts aim to enthuse and connect with every audience member of every age. With a commitment to inspiring the next generation, MatchStick also create tailor-made concerts to perform in schools, community centres and for outreach events, shaping their programme choices to promote music in a fun and engaging setting. MatchStick arrange and compose many of their own pieces and are constantly working to expand the percussion repertoire. Combining acoustic and electronic instruments, MatchStick take their audience on an exciting journey through the possibilities of performance.
