He has been both guest principal with practically every symphony orchestra in the UK (as well as several abroad), playing piano, celesta, organ….  and also continuo player with a wide range of specialist period instrument ensembles in this country and abroad.

As assistant conductor, he’s worked at the Bolshoi, Bavarian State Opera, Châtelet, Glyndebourne, Valencia and Strasbourg, and on landmark concerts at the Edinburgh International Festival.

As opera repetiteur, he has coached many of the world’s leading singers, and built especially long-enduring associations with the Teatro Real (Madrid) & Glyndebourne. He also has a real passion for working with choirs at all levels.  

His radio, television and film credits include ‘Cold War’ and ‘The Duchess’ (Keira Knightley). He has played on cruises, in musicals in the West End and on tour, and at Sadler’s Wells for Carlos Acosta, American Ballet Theatre, & a project with the Pet Shop Boys - and above all for several of Matthew Bourne‘s shows (notably ‘Edward Scissorhands’ & ‘The Red Shoes’), touring also in the UK and France.
