Susan Evans

Violin

Susan learnt the violin from Joan Bucknall and then attended the Royal College of Music from 1975-79. She studied with Leonard Hirsch.

In 1979 she obtained a Rank & File first violin position in the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, where she remained until 1986

Whilst there Susan also worked regularly with the Midland Radio Orchestra, English String Orchestra and Orchestra de Camera.

Susan then returned to London to pursue a freelance career. She has done a lot of work with the RPO, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, BBC Symphony Orchestra, New London Orchestra, RPCO, Ulster Orchestra, Bournemouth Sinfionetta, and London Concert Orchestra.

In addition she has worked with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Ballet Orchestra, Orchestra of St Johns and the National Symphony Orchestra, as well as in various West End shows and sessions.

In most recent years she has been a very regular extra player with the BBC concert Orchestra.
