James Druce

Trombone

James Druce is an exciting versatile musician with ever-growing success as Trombonist, Choral Singer, Director and Educator who enjoys a wide-ranging portfolio career. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, he has performed with ensembles including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet Sinfonia, English Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. James enjoys singing with groups including the Tallis Consort, St Martin-in-the-Fields Voices & Emerging Artists and semi-conducting the Christchurch Consort.

James is Director of Music at Christ Church East Sheen, Orchestral Manager for Waterperry Opera Festival, and Director of Chapel Choir at Reading School, alongside teaching brass and singing in London and Reading. This is complimented by his passion for educated and inspired programming, accompanying and conducting. As a chamber musician he  gives solo and ensemble recitals featuring his own arrangements and is a founding member of Arc Brass and the Bachianas Duo. His musical foundations began as a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral, with highlights including BBC broadcasts, Proms performances and major oratorio solos.
