The Zephyr Ensemble of London
The award-winning Zephyr Ensemble of London was formed ten years ago and has vast experience in providing music for weddings, corporate functions and other events. The Ensemble works as either a wind quintet or trio and recent venues the Ensemble has played at include Kensington Palace, the Royal Courts of Justice and the House of Lords. Companies the Ensemble has worked for include BMW, Jaguar and Centrica. Highlights of the Zephyr Ensemble’s experience include playing to HM the Queen at the re-opening of the Albert Memorial and providing music at HRH Prince Charles’ fiftieth birthday celebrations at Hampton Court Palace.
The Zephyr Ensemble’s repertoire ranges from classical music such as Mozart and Haydn through to lighter numbers such as Gershwin and arrangements of songs from popular shows. The Ensemble is always happy to make arrangements of particular requests wherever possible.
The high standard of playing you will hear from the Zephyr Ensemble of London is reflected in the success the group has had in competitions and as recitalists. All members of the group were scholars at the Royal College or Royal Academy of Music and they have performed together at the Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room and the Royal Festival Hall, as well as many music clubs and festivals across the country. They have given several broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and in 2003 they were winners of the prestigious Philharmonia Orchestra/ Martin Fund Ensemble Award. They have also won awards from the Tunnell Trust, the Tillett Trust, the Countess of Munster Trust, Park Lane Group, the Anglo-Czech Trust competition and Live Music Now.
