The Marylebone Trio was formed in 2003 by postgraduate students at the Royal Academy of Music. The Trio has given recitals to appreciative audiences around the UK, including appearances at the Stratford-upon-Avon Festival, Deal Festival, Newport Music Club, National Portrait Gallery and Warwick Arts Centre. The group has also performed in recital series in London, Hertford, Warwickshire, Chichester and Milton Keynes, and recently gave the first concert in a new classical series at the Quay Arts Centre on the Isle of Wight. In 2007, the trio reached the finals of the Tunnell Trust chamber music competition. The trio has performed many recitals on board cruise ships, travelling to countries including Australia, Hong Kong, Norway and Russia. As well as recital work, the trio also provides background music for events, including a garden party in the presence of HRH Prince Edward and Prince Andrew. The trio is also keen on education work and has held several children’s workshops and concerts as well as running its own chamber music course for the last three summers. The trio’s repertoire is wide and varied, including music by Mozart and Beethoven, several gems from 20th-Century France and a selection of works by less well-known composers which deserve to be more widely heard.
