The FWBS is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation for professional freelance woodwind players working in and around London

As a member, the FWBS helps you financially if you are unable to work due to accident or illness, through a form of co-operative insurance that is built upon the trust and goodwill of members supporting each other. Established in 1978, our members include many of the UK’s leading woodwind players.

Joining the FWBS is a great way of protecting yourself and supporting your fellow professional musicians. There are no monthly premiums, so each member pays out only when another member makes a claim. Typically, there are 2 – 3 claims annually, and on average it costs just £36 per year to be part of the FWBS. This is a fraction of the cost of other commercially available schemes.
