Miranda Fulleylove

Violin

Violinist Miranda Fulleylove has performed and recorded all over the world with many of London’s leading chamber ensembles and orchestras. Equally at home playing early music on equally early instruments, or feverishly deciphering new notes still wet upon the page, Miranda is a principal player with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the London Sinfonietta, and leader of both the Almeida Ensemble in London, and of Music Theatre Wales, the latter groups working at the cutting edge of new music and drama.

As violinist/violist she recently gave a highly-acclaimed staged performance of Schoenberg’s PierrotLunaire with the Almeida Ensemble in London, and during the last two years has given several performances with the Anglo-American music/dance ensemble, ‘Hands and Feet’, in London and in the USA, where a recent visit to a young offenders’ Institute in Boston inspired her to set up similar performances, with cellist ZoeMartlew, in a high security prison on the Isle of Wight, sometimes setting the prisoners’ own poems to music.

Recent chamber music activity includes duos and trios with pianist Clive Williamson and cellist ZoeMartlew, as well as a new duo partnership with harpist Gabriella dall’Olio.

Her discography ranges from Monteverdi through Mozart’s ‘Church’ Sonatas to contemporary chamber music, and several composers, including Sally Beamish,  Julian Grant, Barry Guy, Benedict Mason and George Nicholson have written works for her. She also created the semi-improvised sound- track, together with composer Nicolas Economou, for Margareta von Trotta’s film, ‘The German Sisters’.
